The most reliable type of file to print digitally is a PDF (Portable Document Format), created using Adobe Acrobat or the Mac OS X "Save as PDF..." function within the standard print dialog (please do not use freeware PDF converters as they often cause problems). PDF is strongly preferred for documents. JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) files are fine for images as long as you create and save them at the Highest Quality setting. JPEGs saved at Medium or Low Quality will contain compression artifacts that seriously degrade the image.
Preferred File Formats
pdf, ai (CS2), psd (CS2), indd (CS2), qxp (Mac v. 6.5), eps, tiff, jpg, png, xls, doc, rtf, dwg, dxf
Also Accepted
docx, txt, pict, gif, bmp, ppt, cdr, csv
